"It's Jynn. Just, Jynn."

And anybody who adds a 'y' or 'ifer' to the end of it isn't paying much attention.

When I was a kid, everybody told me I talked too much and asked too many questions. I guess, as it turns out, they were right.

Journalism is my passion, and although I'm not sure where in the field I want to end up, I know it's the only path for me. I've always been a writer, and it wasn't until my junior year of high school when I discovered newspaper. My senior year I was Editor in Chief, and from that moment on there was no turning back.

I've since gone on to work for the North Texas Daily, the school paper for the University of North Texas, where I wrote news as a Staff Writer and was a Design and Copy Editor. I've also written for the Tomball Magnolia Tribune (a small paper from my home town) and have enjoyed an internship at Radio One Dallas, where I broadened my horizons and even had a little air time. Most recently, I completed a summer internship at the Gotham Gazette in New York City, and will be representing Texas in Salon's Young American project.

I grew up overseas, which has helped me learn to adapt and be able to talk to a wide variety of people. I love learning new things, and like to think I always have an open mind. I'm looking forward to making this blog not only to motivate myself to practice my skills, but to share a little bit of my thoughts with the world.

Thank you for embarking on this journey with me,

Jynn Schubert
