Attention students: Leave Your Mark is a must read!
For anybody (especially college students) looking to enter a field or step up their professional game, I highly recommend Aliza Licht's book, Leave Your Mark. It is engaging, well written, and surprisingly helpful in a huge variety of topics. From how to ace that interview, cover letter, or resume to how to earn that letter of recommendation once you get the job, Licht has mentored enough students to know how to get things done the right way.
Licht's experience in the fashion industry can be applied to any industry. As she says in the book, this isn't a "How To", it's a "Must Do". Her insight is witty and helpful, and I have no doubt anybody can relate to at least one of her stories (although you'll probably end up like me, loving them all).
Unafraid to make mistakes or give it to you straight, Licht's guide to "landing your dream job, killing it in your career, and rocking social media" is the only guide you'll need. There's power in honesty, and this is one of the most honest advice books I've ever read.
Licht's advice on how to network, and how not to ruin your chances at landing yourself in the career you've always wanted are a must read for any student not sure what to do to get to where they want to be in life.
I've used it every step of my journey and get compliments constantly on the abilities I learned from this book.
For the beginner professional, or anybody looking to refresh themselves in the 101s of professionalism, this book is right for you.
